Power facilities targeted in Ukraine
Ukraine's power facilities have faced escalating attacks in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have caused blackouts in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Several individuals were wounded while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and faced disruption to drinking water, per reports from municipal leaders.

At the same time, a young boy was lost their life in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, according to regional authorities.

Russian forces has intensified strikes on energy facilities over the past few days, while officials has called for "substantial measures" from partner nations to apply pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not window dressing but decisive action - from the US, Europe and the Group of Seven - in delivering protection systems and applying restrictions," was stated in a public message.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and over thirty projectiles targeted the country's power systems, characterizing such assaults as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

The energy minister said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were working to restore power.

A wave of strikes damaged power facilities and civilian homes in the capital.

Five out of the nine people injured in the strikes on the capital have been taken to hospital, according to local officials.

Area administrators said the urban area endured intense attacks throughout the evening. A minor was killed and multiple civilians were injured.

The attacks follow evenings of air raids in the region, portions of which remain under the control of invading troops.

The whole nation is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to detect.

Government officials told reporters that Moscow was purposely seeking to destroy the national power system, with strikes already impacting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and officials were anticipating additional strikes.
